The latest news

Hi All Families,

Welcome back after the Half Term holiday. Hope you all had a good break and enjoyed the dry weather! We are now looking forward to getting the children back in the water!

Charity - Lollypops Fund
We are proud to announce that Starfish are now sponsoring the charity - Lollypops Fund (more info on starfish notice board). This is a Kent based charity which strives to help families with children undergoing treatment for cancer. As starfish is an organisation primarily for children, the reasons behind lollypops has touched our hearts, particularly as, since starfish began just over 10yrs ago, 2 children who have swam with starfish have lost their fight against cancer. We hope to help the charity by raising awareness, donating free lessons and organising donations. Teacher Pauline is taking an active role raising funds for a holiday home for families of cancer patients.
This weeks challenge - Teacher Jan Sewell is trying to raise a mile of 1ps!!!  This week at swimming beside the notice board will be a decorated bucket and we ask you and the children to throw in any 1 pence pieces, or other small change that we can convert, into the bucket. No pressure, just purely if you have the time to dig out any odd coins at the bottom of your bag or laying in a draw at home!  Jan hopes that this will raise over £800 by the Easter fair, she will keep us posted on her progress.

Photos

During this half of term I will be taking photos during the swimming sessions to place on our website. Please note that:
- If you do not want myself or a Teacher to take a photo of your child, please email me back, call email 'No photos' and give me your child's full name and class day and time. I will then ensure that no photos are taken of your child.
- If, after taking photo's, I choose a photo to go on the website where your child is obviously recognisable, please state now if you would like to see the photo for approval first. Email back 'photo approval' and give me your child's full name and class day and time.

thank you, Sue
